Concrete floors are one of the most commonly used floor types in industrial settings. They are durable, strong, easy to cast and suitable for a wide range of uses. However, over time, with the operational wear and tear and especially when heavy traffic loads are involved, floor joints often get damaged.

Forklifts bump whenever they cross a damaged floor joint. This may cause costly mechanical repairs to the forklift itself but also severely affect the driver’s health, let alone the danger of falling loads. At the same time, slab cracking is not properly controlled. Over time, all the above contribute to deteriorate the degree of floor damage and this creates both aesthetical and practical issues.

Damaged joints can have serious consequences if not corrected immediately, so it’s important to resolve them as soon as they appear.

Here in Dpk Constructions, we assess the condition of any concrete industrial floor slab and repair the floor joints immediately and effectively.

First, we remove the old joint sealant, we clear the surfaces properly and we fill them with a semi rigid methacrylate (PMMA) sealant. The most amazing advantage of methacrylate materials is the short curing time. In just 2 hours the surface is ready to be subjected to full loading. All our repairs are finished flush with the surrounding floor, providing a smooth and level surface.
